Seems like Matt is the only one who survived in his team, and he doesn't understand why, until the ghosts of the dead soldiers appear to Melinda to unveil the truth.

Melinda meets a young woman named Jennifer who has come to sell items from her parents' home, then helps her connect with her father Ray, who was killed when Jennifer was 2 years old. Ray blames Melinda's mother for his wife's death shortly after his own. A young man named Justin takes pictures of the crowd when Melinda receives an award and when he notices something strange, he shows them to her. She takes the pictures to Professor Payne to get his opinion and Melinda brings up the possibility that the ghost in the picture is her father.

Jay Mohr starred in the television series "Action" and co-created, executive produced and hosted the reality show "Last Comic Standing." He was also a writer and performer on "Saturday Night Live," and often serves as host on "Jim Rome Show," a syndicated sports radio show. His feature film credits include "Jerry Maguire," "Picture Perfect," "Go," "Pay It Forward," "Suicide Kings" "King's Ransom," "The Groomsmen" and the upcoming "Jump Shot."

Camryn Manheim is well known to television audiences for her role as Ellenor Frutt in the drama series "The Practice," for which she won both the Emmy Award and the Golden Globe Award. Jennifer Love Hewitt
Jennifer Love Hewitt (born February 21, 1979) is an American actress and singer-songwriter. She is well-known for her television and film roles in the Fox television series Party of Five, as Sarah Reeves, and also starred in I Know What You Did Last Summer and its sequel, as Julie James. Hewitt can currently be seen on the CBS television series Ghost Whisperer, as Melinda Gordon, a young newlywed who communicates with the dead.
Early life and career
Hewitt was born in Waco, Texas, to Herbert Daniel Hewitt, a technician, and Patricia Mae Shipp, a speech-language pathologist. Hewitt grew up in Nolanville, Texas; after the divorce of her parents, Hewitt and her only sibling, Todd Hewitt, were brought up by her mother. Her first name was given to her by her brother, after a girl he was fond of as a youngster, while her middle name, "Love", was given to her by her mother after her best friend in college.
As a young girl, Hewitt was attracted to music which led to her first encounters with the entertainment industry. At the age of three, she sang "The Greatest Love of All" at a livestock show. Just a year after that, at a restaurant-dance hall, she entertained an audience with her version of "Help Me Make It Through the Night". By the time she was five, Hewitt already had tap dancing and ballet in her portfolio. At nine, she became a member of the Texas Show Team (which also toured in the Soviet Union). At the age of ten, at the suggestion of talent scouts, she moved to Los Angeles, California, with her mother to pursue a career in both acting and singing.
Film and music career
After moving to Los Angeles, Hewitt appeared in more than twenty television commercials. Her first break came as a child actor on the Disney Channel variety show Kids Incorporated
(1989–1991). During this time she danced in and sang all the songs for a live action video called "Dance! Workout With Barbie" released by Buena Vista.
In 1992, she played Pierce Brosnan's daughter in a pilot for NBC called Running Wilde, which featured Brosnan as a reporter for Auto World magazine whose stories cover his own wild auto adventures, but the series wasn't picked up and the pilot never aired. She later played on television in several short-lived series, such as Fox's Shaky Ground (1992–1993), ABC's Byrds of Paradise (1994), and McKenna (1994–1995). Finally, Hewitt became a young star after landing the role of Sarah Reeves on the popular Fox Television show Party of Five (1995–1999), joining the cast during its second season. She continued the same role in the short-lived Party of Five spin-off, Time of Your Life (1999). Hewitt was also one of the producers, but the show was cancelled after only half a season.
She made her film debut in the independent film Munchie (1992). Hewitt became a film star after a lead role in the horror film I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997). The film had great box-office appeal (125,000,000 U.S. dollars worldwide), and Hewitt became one of the most popular young stars in the USA (together with her co-stars: Freddie Prinze Jr., Ryan Phillippe, and Sarah Michelle Gellar). She also played in the sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998), which wasn't as successful as the first one but brought in more money than the first one on opening weekend and after. Other notable film roles included the high-school comedy Can't Hardly Wait (1998) and a starring role with Sigourney Weaver in the romantic comedy Heartbreakers (2001).
Hewitt was considered for the role of Paige Matthews on the WB hit series Charmed but actress Rose McGowan was given the role.[citation needed] In 2000, Hewitt appeared in The Audrey Hepburn Story. That same year, she was the "most popular actress on television" due to her Q-rating (a measurement of a celebrity's popularity) of thirty-seven. For that reason, Nokia chose her to become its spokesperson, because of her "fresh image", and her being "a symbol of youthfulness and wholesomeness".
In 2001, she appeared in the music video for the Enrique Iglesias song, "Hero", as the singer's love interest.
Hewitt wrote I'm Gonna Love You for the movie The Hunchback of Notre Dame II because, although she was a well-known singer at the time, her character Madellaine was the only character who didn't sing in the movie. The song won an award for Best Song on DVD Awards.
Since September 2005, Hewitt has starred in the television series Ghost Whisperer. In Australia, Ghost Whisperer has been popular since its introduction; in the United States, the show averages 9-11 million viewers for each new episode.
Hewitt has also auditioned for many roles. She lost the role of "Juliet" in Romeo + Juliet to Claire Danes at the last moment. She also had to give up the role of "Darlene" in Brokedown Palace because of scheduling conflicts. Hewitt also auditioned for the role of "Elektra" in Daredevil.
To date, she has released four albums with some success, most notably in Japan. Her first album was released in Japan, where she is widely considered a pop star. Her explanation for her success in Japan is that the Japanese "love perky music. The poppier the music, the better."
Hewitt confirmed that she would not pose nude or do nude scenes in movies.
Personal life
Hewitt contributes a lot to charity. She is best known as "godmother" of the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund.
On a September 21, 2006 appearance on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, she expressed her desire to be a spokesperson for Sizzler.
Hewitt has been dating Scottish actor Ross McCall since January 2006. She has also dated singer-guitarist John Mayer, talk show host Carson Daly, actor/model Kip Pardue, singer-songwriter Rich Cronin, and actor Will Friedle.

Ancient Times
In ancient times, bees were considered a symbol of the soul of death and the release of spirits.
Legend says that when a bee flies a soul will rise it was believed that a person would be released into the next life if a bee was present when the person died.

Field
This is a typical setting, a field with holes instead of a traditional cemetary, signifies that spirits come to melinda unusual ways.
Two pieces
Melinda is a human being torn between two worlds ... that of the living and that of the dead. With each ghostly encounter, Melinda experiences growth. A bee lands on lily. This is the introduction of the bee's journey into the GHOST WHISPERER world.
Two Angel
Melinda is a happily married antique dealer. Some of the antiques coming into her store have ghosts attached to them. The clothes here cast no shadows because ghosts do not have shadows, but the living do, as evidenced by the shadows thrown by the credits. The fallingfeather indicates unfinished business for this ghost.
Woman on the Chair
The Woman on the chair is holding an egg, which symbolizes the beginning of a piece of business. As the woman becomes a ghost, the egg cracks open to reveal a bird, which signifies a completed piece of business.

The House
Then the woman disappers, leaving the bird to journey through its own cycle before it crosses over into the light. This sequence represents what Melinda does : she helpes spirits complete unfinished business before helping them cross into the light. In additon, she gives closure to those left behind.
Ghost Boy
Through falling rain and storm clouds, ghost boy and Melinda are revealed. Acloud obscures his face bacause he is confused. The cloud dissipates and the ghost moves forward. Melinda is giving the ghost clarity so that he can move forward and cross into the light.
Mother's Picture
The man in the foreground is a ghost holding a photo of his mother who has already passed. The people in the background represent the living, moving very quickly, as does the world today. The ghost moves forward slowly because he's lost. His mother's picture flaps back and forth. His mother is hanunting, yet poignant. The male ghost lets go of the picture he is holding as the moves toward the light. The picture flutters downard.
The Suitcase
The suitcase represents travelling into a more positive place through the journey Melinda takes each week. The suitcase cracks open and a bee flies out.
The Bee dress
The bee flies to a woman clothed in bees. She has no fear and symbolizes Melinda's gift embodying hope, love, compassion and closure. The bee joins other bees on the living dress as a different bee leaves the woman flies away.

Other Characters
Professor Rick Payne (Jay Mohr), a professor at Rockland University specializing in myths, the paranormal, and the occult that helps Melinda in crossing ghosts over. He studies signs of the unknown. He is an intelligent yet arrogant professor. He seems to talk a lot about food in the episode "Love Never Dies". He is expected to become a regular character in season three.
Andrea Marino (Aisha Tyler), Melinda's best friend when she moves to Grandview who eventually learns of Melinda's gift (which Melinda told her about because she knows Andrea is not judgmental), and becomes business partners with Melinda in managing the antique store, "Same As It Never Was" before dying in the aforementioned plane crash. She was tempted to go with Romano in the Dark Side but Melinda crosses her over in to the Light.
Ned Banks (Tyler Patrick Jones), the son of Delia Banks aware of Melinda's gift before his mother.
Gabriel Rance (Ignacio Serricchio), a Ghost Whisperer who conspires with unnamed forces from the dark side to keep earthbound spirits, and orchestrate the destructive events to fufill the disastrous prophecy.
Romano AKA the Man in the Hat (John Walcutt), an evil spirit that keeps earthbound spirits, and during his physical lifetime, was an occult leader that was responsible for hundreds of suicides including his own. This character is likely to return in Season 3.
Homer the Dog, the ghost dog of Jim and Melinda that protects their house from evil spirits, first introduced in the episode Lost Boys.
Major Characters
Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love Hewitt), the show's protagonist with the ability to commune with earthbound spirits and owns an antique shop. She is married to Jim Clancy. She helps earthbound spirits and helps them to cross over in the Light. Her grandmother has the same ability, as well as her mother. Her father Tom left when Melinda was only a small child.
Jim Clancy ( David Conrad ), the husband of Melinda who knows about her ability and tries to help her with her paranormal problems while working as a local paramedic. He is a paramedic because his deceased brother Dan was one. Jim knows of Melinda's gift and is worried about what it can it do to her. He helps her with it and supports her.
Delia Banks (Camryn Manheim), the widowed skeptic mother introduced in season two that worked as a real estate agent before taking the place of Andrea Marino as co-owner of The Same As It Never Was. In the episode "Delia's First Ghost", she is told of Melinda's gift but does not believe her at first, until Charlie, her deceased husband, comes to visit her.

Ghost Whisperer
Ghost Whisperer is an American television drama-fantasy-thriller that premiered on CBS September 23, 2005. The show was created by John Gray. It currently stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, David Conrad, Camryn Manheim, formerly Aisha Tyler, and in a recurring role, Jay Mohr. Ghost Whisperer airs Friday nights at 8/7c.
The show's title is a reference to main character Melinda Gordon (portrayed by Jennifer Love Hewitt) who lives in the fictional town of Grandview with her husband Jim and has the ability to see and commune with the dead. The show is also one of several fantasy television programs about young women with gifts for supernatural communication such as the canceled shows Joan of Arcadia and Tru Calling, and the current NBC show Medium.
Season two of Ghost Whisperer premiered on September 22, 2006 and ended on May 11, 2007, again airing Friday nights on CBS during the same timeslot. CBS officially renewed the show for a third season placing it in its regular Friday 8 p.m. timeslot to act as a lead-in for the similarly-themed vampire drama Moonlight. The third season will premiere September 28, 2007.

Ghost Whisperer is a highly episodic series that follows the fictional medium Melinda Gordon and her experiences with the dead as a result of her power. Each episode deals with one or more ghosts seeking Melinda's help in relaying a message or completing a task that will put the spirit to rest, and allow them to "cross over" into The Light, a metaphor presented by the show as its conception of Heaven.
Despite the episodic structure of the show, plot lines that span two or three episodes (normally during season openers and finishers) develop and progress in a slow manner throughout the rest of the season. The first season arc introduced the show's first antagonist, Romano, a negative entity in a black hat, who attempted to do the exact opposite of Melinda and gather earthbound souls and bring them to the Dark Side. The story climaxed in the season finale when a plane crashed in Grandview, and Melinda and Romano both attempted to sway the souls to the Light, and staying on earth, respectively. Andrea was killed in the plane crash and, in a story that would carry over to the second season, was being swayed by Romano to stay earthbound.
In the second season, two new characters (Delia Banks and Professor Rick Payne) are introduced, both of whom, by season's end, come to learn of Melinda's power and become survivors that ghosts want messages passed to through Melinda. The second season arc revolves around the thinning "veil" between the living and the dead, evident in certain situations in second season episodes. By the end of the season, a second Ghost Whisperer was introduced. His arrival in Grandview sets the final events of a disastrous prophecy in motion, and the strengthening of the dark side over the Light.
The beginning of each episode normally revolves around Melinda first encountering the ghost(s) that will be crossed over in the episode. In their normally brief appearances, Melinda collects clues she later researches. After gaining a significant piece of information that drives the episode's plot further, the ghost(s) normally open up to her, and tell her how it is she can help them find peace. Often, the messages the ghosts want Melinda to pass are confusing and as a result, she is normally met with questions and skepticism by those she is trying to give the message to- the families, friends and lovers of the ghosts. By the end of each episode, Melinda is usually able to complete her task and cross the ghost(s) from the respective episode over.
